In short: NightVision3D shows you a filtered live view of the room through your headset’s cameras. It does not record, save, upload or share anything, and it does not connect to the internet.

This policy applies to the NightVision3D app for Meta Quest (“the app”), published by ProInstallers LLC (“we”, “us”).

What the app does with your camera

The app asks for permission to use the headset’s passthrough cameras. It uses them for one purpose: to draw a live, night-vision-style view of your surroundings to the headset’s displays while the app is open.

  • Camera images are processed in memory on your headset, one frame at a time, and discarded as soon as they have been drawn.
  • Camera images are never saved to storage, recorded, photographed, uploaded, streamed or shared by the app.
  • The app does not analyze camera images to identify people, objects, places or anything else.

Hand tracking

If you use hands instead of controllers, the app reads only a pinch gesture (the system’s “pinch” value for your index finger and thumb) so that holding a pinch can exit the app. The app does not read, store or transmit hand pose or any other hand-tracking data. If you use controllers, it reads only whether the B or Y button is held, for the same purpose.

Information we collect

None. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking. It does not request network access, so it has no way to send information off your headset.

We therefore do not collect, sell, rent or share personal information, and we have none to retain or delete.

Information handled by Meta

The app is distributed through the Meta Horizon Store. Meta may collect information about your purchase, installation and use of apps on your device under its own terms and privacy policy, which we do not control. Please read Meta’s privacy policy for details. We do not receive your Meta account information.

Permissions the app requests

  • Camera / headset camera access — to show the live filtered view described above.
  • Hand tracking — to detect a held pinch for exiting the app.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in your headset’s app settings. Without camera access the app cannot show an image.

Children

The app is not directed at children below the minimum age Meta allows for Quest headsets, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because the app collects none.

Safety notice

The app replaces your view of the real world with a filtered camera image. Do not walk around, use stairs, drive, or do anything that needs your normal vision while wearing it. It is a visual effect, not a night-vision device, and it should not be relied on for safety.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices change, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above before the change takes effect in the app.
